CLIPBOARDING…TIPS for "blue" visibility in "red" parishes:
1) Consider likely places that might attract other progressives and democrats in your area, perhaps concerts, farmers markets, craft fairs, environmental or university-sponsored events.
2) Select an event to attend, wearing a T-shirt or baseball cap that advertises your political views, and bring along a few friends with matching "gear", available at www.demstore.com
3) Carry a clipboard with you to collect contact information from those you meet. Remember to find out where they live! (If clipboards are prohibited, a pen and piece of paper can suffice.) Don't worry, people WILL approach you, and some will be democratic and independent voters.
4) Help grow this Grassroots database - tell people about the www.LaRoots.net email bulletin, invite them to go to www.LaRoots.net to join or offer to add their info for them.
5) Whenever you develop firm plans for a political visibility or outreach effort, feel free to send us advance information about it (7 days if possible). We list events across Louisiana in the email Bulletin so LaRoots people in your area can show up and say Hi!
