Dear LA Roots Reader,
Happy holidays to you and yours! As we look back on the past year I hope we can
all share gratitude for health, happiness and peace of mind. I'm writing to ask
for your help in something that's very important to Louisiana, and that's
Senator Mary Landrieu's re-election campaign.

As you know, the 2008 Senate race will be very important to our state's future.
With Mary, we now have an experienced Senator with vital seniority who fights
hard for our state and who gets results. Her record of accomplishment is
unparalleled. As a member of key Senate committees, such as Appropriations,
Energy and Natural Resources, Homeland Security and Small Business, Mary fights
to make Louisiana stronger and safer and plays a critical role in major issues
such as economic development, education reform, hurricane recovery, coastal
protection, infrastructure, and national energy independence.
In spite of her many achievements for Louisiana, and her success in working
across party lines to get things done, national partisan political forces have
targeted Senator Landrieu's seat for 2008 and are prepared to spend millions
against her. In these challenging times, we cannot afford to lose an experienced
Senior Senator like Mary Landrieu. That's why I'm asking for your help as we
approach year-end.
Your contribution to Mary's re-election campaign between now and December 31
will count on this quarter's campaign finance report. This is important because
it will allow her to show strong momentum as she enters 2008. I have pledged to
do my part by raising money for her re-election campaign. Please help me by
contributing to my personal fund raising page before year end. It is extremely
important that we build the strongest possible campaign war chest before
December 31.
